Squarespace Review

Want to be able to build your own website and not have to hire a web designer to do it? Squarespace lets you do just that (there goes my pay check…!)

I’ve been using Squarespace now for about two years for my own personal website as well as designing and building custom Squarespace sites for clients.

In those two years Squarespace has evolved so rapidly and successfully it’s unbelievable. The Squarespace concept seems to be much like Volkswagen’s: the “Car for People”. Squarespace is the web solution for the people. Targeting seems to be mainly towards people that are not web designers. That being said I still use Squarespace for the majority of my clients because I can fully customize sites with Squarespace. It is also nice when I hand the site off to a client I know that they will be able to do the majority of the updating themselves. It is nice to know that I won’t be getting any frantic phone calls in the middle of the night about their site being totally screwed up.

Squarespace alone does just about everything most people would want their website to do. People can update their own site without any knowledge of Xhtml, CSS etc. The usability of Squarespace is fare better than I have seen from any other Content Management Systems (CMS) out there. Hosting is included and is the best that money can buy. It is the ultimate CMS for the do-it-yourselfer.

Squarespace has a wide variety in site templates to choose from and there are so many different ways that a template can be changed around most people have little if nothing to gripe about.

Need custom work? Obviously no CMS can do everything! If you need to kick your site up a notch, add some functionality etc you can hire web designers, including myself that specialize in customizing Squarespace sites.

Do yourself a favor and try out Squarespace now for free!
